First Birthday Baby Photoshoot in Bangalore

The first year seems to just fly by, even though it may not seem like it after all the sleepless nights! But what better way to celebrate than photographing your baby’s first birthday. Baby’s first birthday cake still holds value in India today and especially when you look back at the photos after several years ahead in time.

A Cake Smash Photo Shoot does take planning. So during your phone consultation before the shoot, we will discuss with you the theme, colour scheme, cake designs, and clothing options. Whether you have a boy or girl, the birthday cake is the highlight of the day that reflects your child’s favourites.

10-14 months is the age of the baby where they get into the world of fantasy, so we can plan a theme according to your choice. There are options of paint splash themes, balloons if you feel that your baby will enjoy playing around.

Some of the props are included in the package and my team can arrange the cake for you at an additional cost. It’s important to note that, Smash and Splash sessions are baby lead. Some babies will take it better than others, some are shy, some not so much.

Time to clean up! Once the cake has been smashed we will put on a little bubble bath for your little one. This is another great opportunity to get some cute and playful photos with lots of bubble fun as part of the birthday photoshoot.

CAKE SMASH SHOOT FAQS

WHEN SHOULD I SCHEDULE A CAKE SMASH SESSION?

At least 2 weeks before your child’s 1st or 2nd birthday. This gives us time to discuss theme/colours for your child’s session. I also need to contact the baker 3 weeks before the session with your desired theme/colours for the cake. Your package includes props and the cake.

WHERE DOES THE SHOOT HAPPEN?

Indoor sessions happen at our Vinu’s Images Studio in Kalyan Nagar,Bangalore can be arranged in nearby outdoor location for Splash and Smash Session

WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR?

Anything you would like! Maybe something to match the theme or colours of your session? For girls, tutu’s with a onesie or rompers look really cute. For boys, solid t’s and jeans or button-down with a tie and jeans look great. You can add in hats or necklaces as well.

WHAT DOES THE CAKE SMASH PACKAGE INCLUDE?

1 hour-1 hour and 30-minute session. Props: letter’s (“O” “N” “E”), balloons, clear cake stand, flag banner, themed prop set-ups and of course… cake!

MAY I INCORPORATE SPECIAL PROPS (FAVORITE BLANKETS, TOYS, MEANINGFUL ITEMS)?

Yes, please! This will make your session unique to you and your family. Before your session, we will have discussed a custom theme for your child’s session so there may be elements of this you need to bring with you on the day but this will be discussed on an individual basis as well change from session to session.

WHAT IF MY CHILD DOESN’T EAT THE CAKE?

This does happen. Some children love the cake smash and dig right in. Others are hesitant. I recommend making a cupcake or small cake and introducing the cake smash idea before (a few days/weeks before) our session date. This way, your child will be familiar with the process and will know that they can smash the cake. Also, bring or have on hand puffs or cheerios so we can stuff them into the cake. Your child will want to grab them out of the cake and eat it.

WILL I (mom or dad) GET MESSY?

You definitely will! You will have to show your child that he/she can eat the cake so you might have to take a bite yourself. Yum! Also, your child may stand up and walk or crawl around, so you will have to keep putting your child back into the designated space. You will get afros.

CAN I INVITE MY FAMILY MEMBERS TO THE SESSION?

I like to keep the maximum family members at this session to two adults (not including myself or my assistant.) Too many people trying to get your child to smile or talking will distract your child.

HOW WILL WE CLEAN UP?

We will provide paper towels, a garbage bag, and water to clean up. I recommend changing your child right at the cake smash site. Have wipes and a change of clothes as a go-to.

HOW DO WE BOOK A CAKE SMASH/ PRE-BIRTHDAY SESSION WITH YOU?
